The Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre is a long established theatre with modernfacilities located in the Left Bank ara of Athlone Town in the centre of Ireland. The theatre provides an entertaining and varied programme of events throughout the yeay including drama, comedy, musicals, muisc, opera, dance, art exhibitions, childrens events and much much more.
Built in 1800 this building served as the parish church until the new church of SS. Peter and Paul was completed in 1937. The altar placed against the wall in the middle of the building, seating on three sides, with three galleries overhead. In 1937the Church was converted to use as a parochial hall and given the name of much loved parish priest. Initially it was used as a dance hall, but in recent years it has been used for plays, concerts and recital.
All seats in The Dean Crowe Theatre and Arts Centre have great uninterrupted view of the stage. The balcony holds 128 seats and the stalls 338. There is a theatre bar and art gallery open to patrons and interval drinks can be ordered in advance.
